Attorney Profile

My law practice is primarily focused
in the areas of Estate Planning,
Probate/Estate Administration and Real Estate.

Also assists clients in the following areas:

Elder Law

Elder Law includes a variety of issues related to senior citizens. While Seniors may have special concerns, they usually arise in the context of Estate Planning and are therefore discussed under Estate Planning.

Small Business

Over my career, I have represented many small business owners and executives in: (i) startup including selection and establishing corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships, (ii) purchase and sale of business entity or assets, (iii) purchase and sale of commercial real estate, and (iv) plan the transition of the business to the next generation.

Nonprofit Organizations

I have helped numerous new and mature nonprofit organizations with articles of incorporation, bylaws, leases and other legal documents. My extensive experience serving on Boards of Directors of nonprofit organizations gives me helpful insight into the operations of nonprofits. I offer reduced fees to nonprofit clients.

Personal Information

Born in North Dakota, I grew up on a farm and small town. After graduating from North Dakota State University in 1969, I served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. I came to Minnesota to attend the University of Minnesota Law School, and never left. Shortly after I graduated and was admitted to the Minnesota Bar in 1976, I moved to Hopkins and started my law firm. Over thirty years later, I still enjoy serving clients and the community of Hopkins.

Besides time with my four granddaughters and two daughters, my interests include a cabin on Palmer Lake near Park Rapids, Minnesota and Gopher Men’s basketball.
